Tonquin Point Retreat Location
Tofino's Tonquin Point Retreat is located in Tonquin Beach Park on a small sandy beach on the waterfront within a short 10 minute stroll from the Village of Tofino on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Its a scenic three hour drive from Nanaimo, five hour drive from Victoria and approximately six hours (including the BC Ferry trip) from Vancouver.
Tonquin Beach Park
Tonquin Park is one of the smaller beach destinations in the area.. and is also one of the least busiest beaches therefore more private. The sandy beach is covered with fine white sand and encompasses an entire cove protected by tall rock cliffs. Surrounding the hidden cove, high up on the cliffs, are small dwarfed trees. All are bent over from the powerful and unpredictable coastal winds.
During the winter storm seasons the driftwood logs are smashed against the rock cliffs. In the summer the driftwood logs are left to rest on the beach. At low tide there is a large tidal pool living large with marine wildlife and plenty of beach to play.
